School Representative's welcome

Our school representatives are two of the main drivers for pupil voice within our school, leading the senior student leadership team and chairing the pupil council.  They meet weekly with the headteacher to discuss school issues, provide a link to the pupil council and take a central role in planning school improvement, activity and events.

This year's school representatives are Seren Campbell and Blair Kalotka.

Seren Campbell

I’m incredibly proud and excited to be serving as a senior representative this year. It’s an honour to represent a school that has shaped me in so many positive ways, and I’m committed to giving back by leading with integrity, empathy, and enthusiasm.

I wanted to become a senior representative because I care about our school and the experiences of everyone in it. This role allows me to be a strong voice for students, ensuring that their ideas, concerns, and perspectives are heard and I believe that if we strengthen our pupil voice it will guarantee students are listened to, involved in decisions, and able to make a real difference in school life. I hope to serve as a bridge between pupils and staff, fostering understanding and cooperation, and promoting a positive, inclusive school environment where all can thrive.

I aim to make a meaningful and positive contribution to the school this year by supporting the organisation of events and activities, as well as contributing to the development and improvement of school policies to help Dalbeattie High School continue to grow and thrive. Additionally, I hope to engage with the wider community to address broader challenges, ensuring that Dalbeattie High School is not only a place of learning, but a place where every student feels empowered, valued, and inspired to reach their best.

Blair Kalotka

The role of Senior Representative is an honour that I am very grateful for. The opportunity has given me the chance to learn more about the running of the school, as well as developing my communication and leadership skills. I hope my ever-growing knowledge can contribute to a lasting positive impact on the school and my fellow pupils.

This year, I hope to make the school a better, more welcoming place. By focusing more on student concerns and opinions, I hope to improve our pupil council and create a space where we can make a difference within our small community while raising awareness of other wider issues affecting our area. Our senior leadership team has the potential to build on our current school structure. I believe that as a school we can provide not just an education but a truly supportive community for all young people.

School Captains

Our school representatives are supported by a team of eight school captains. Our captain this year (from left to right) are:

  • Louise Kelting
  • Lewis Robson
  • Fergus Need
  • Fraser Murray

Our captain undertake a number of tasks including promoting pupil voice, the organisation and delivery of house assemblies, and the supporting of school events such as our parent/carer consultation evenings.
